As I progress in age and live through a time when skateboarding is at it's "coolest," I can't help but notice a strange breed of so-called skateboarders emerge from obscurity when the temperature drops and riding atop a skateboard becomes less of a source of fun and more of a fashion accesory. What's the story with these part-timers, skating four times out of the year doesn't consitute a skateboarder. Sorry. And why even waste your time? To be able to brag to the chick you're trying to get over on that you "were just out skateboarding?" Come on now. What really gets me isn't that these people are missing the point of skating, it's that they are absolutely clueless as to the etiquette of a session? Maybe I'm old and bitter but come on people...perpetual snaking is still a g'damned no-no where I'm from. It's as if these new jacks took lessons in obstruction from a panel of fruit booters, bikers, those razor scooter dipsh*ts and diabetes-stricken kittens. There needs to be a website or DVD dedicated solely to the purpose of skate session manners. Surviveatthespot.com? Yeah, that's a good one. Anyone who is down to produce it, hit me up. I'll do the voice over.

Toy Machine
Odd DaysAnyway, back to this stuff. Toy Machine Bloodsucking Skateboard Company is back on the move again. This time they'll be embarking on a West Coast tour coined, "Oddity Odyssey." It will all go down from June 19 through June 30 and will be making a bunch of stops in Cali, Oregon and Washington. For more info on where and when, be sure to stop by the official Toy Machine site for details. While you're there be sure to check out the blog of TM overlord, Ed Templeton. In it is a bunch of good stuff from his travels, artwork and adorable wife, Deanna. Ledge technician, P. Rod has a new signature bearing out from the folks over at FKD. The brand posted a quick little teaser of Paul to help pump his bearing. Peep the video here of that nollie, front crooks, nollie flip out. What?!

Welcome To The ATL If you're in San Fran next Tuesday, be sure to stop by Madrone for the premiere of Satva Leung's newest production entitled, Welcome To The ATL. This video features some of Atlanta's tightest spots and showcases the talents of the cities finest, including Grant Taylor, Kris Markovich, Anthony Williams, David Clark, Justin Brock, Jeremiah Babb, Dan Plunkett and more. Baker and Altamont am, Theotis Beasley has a short but sweet interview over at the Active site. Kevin Romar has a cool little "Day In The Life" type thing over here, where you can also check out footage of Ronson Lambert, Terry Kennedy and more.
