SKATE NEWS

While most Halloween's come and go with the eventfulness of a coffee induced morning fart, this past Halloween without a doubt, f*%king killed it! At least in New York City it did. If you missed all the costumes, bro downs and skateboarding that popped off at the first annual Halloween Hellraiser, you're gonna need too check the video below to catch up. This one is cut together by NYC video assassin, Jay Maldonado and takes care of the highlights of the day. Watch, take notes and maybe even claim that you were there. History is only made once, people.

Stereo Skateboards

Stereo, Meet Your New Friend, Shepard
As Stereo Skateboards keeps us all nervous with anticipation as the Tincan Folklore/A Visual Sound Boxset currently ships, the boys over at the Sound Agency have just announced a new board collaboration with Obey founder, graf legend, stencil guru and Swindle Magazine Publisher, Shepard Fairey. Be on the lookout for these limited edition pro models from Olly Todd, Clint Peterson, Danny Supa and Danny Renaud.

Joey Blasts A Double Set Nollie Heel As If It Were Yesterday
Through the years, there have been so many notable pros and ams who rode into the scene, blew minds for a while and then disappeared practically overnight. Keeping in line with their endless tribute and "where are they now" pursuit of 90's skateboarding, my hombres over at Bobshirt have just dropped another classic interview/follow-up; this time with ex-Real & Planet Earth pro, Joey Bast. Insanely smooth and stylish, Bast was doing switch BSTS's and switch smith grinds before most and at the time, was at the top of a lot of 'favorite skater lists.' In this Q&A, Joey talks about his first board, getting the boot from Real, blowing it with PE, the best 360 flips, shell toes, partying too hard and hole-in-one's that pay better than board royalties.

In the spirit of biting Bobshirt's steez, I just wrapped an interview with another pro who dropped off the scene a few years back but is throwing down for a soon-to-be noticed comeback. Should be up soon, just waiting on some photos.
