During the 2009 Maloof Money Cup several companies and pro skaters donated autographed decks, trucks and wheels for an online auction to benefit the Maloof Skateboarding Assistance Foundation (MSAF). The online auction includes autographs from: Andy MacDonald, Brandon Westgate, Billy Marks, Bob Burnquist, Bobby Worrest, Chaz Ortiz, David Gonzalez, Dennis Busenitz, Eric Koston, Geoff Rowley, Lizard King, Mark Appleyard, Nick Dompierre, Peter Ramondetta, Rune Glifberg, Sandro Diaz, Sean Malto, Terry Kennedy, Tony Trujillo and 2009 Maloof Money Cup Street Champion Chris Cole!

ZUMIEZ has also jumped on board and provided “The Coolest Gift Certificate Ever”! There are two available at a retail value of $500 each and they can be used in store or online at ZUMIEZ.com.

Thanks to the Maloof brothers that’s not all: during the Maloof Money Cup Launch Party at the Palms, Pro Skater Jake Brown won the grand prize at the first annual Monster Energy presents “Ante Up for Skateboarding Poker Tournament”. Jake gave back the grand prize of a two nights stay in the Maloof Brothers Palms Place two bedroom suite, plus dinner for two at Nove Italiano inside the Palms Casino in Las Vegas all to be auctioned off to benefit MSAF! Epiphone has also provided two amazing guitars one being a Gibson Jeff Beck 1954 Les Paul Oxblood signed by Dave Mathews and an Epiphone Casino.

It was only a few weeks ago that rumors swirling about Frank Messman becoming CEO and partner at Blackbox were confirmed. The Danish IASC (International Association of Skateboard Companies) member began working with Blackbox in 2008, when he helped create Blackbox Europe. Formerly, he had held various positions, such as CEO/partner of Dwindle Distribution and World Industries and various General Management positions at the European divisions of Powell, DC Shoes and Sole Tech. Whether Messman's new role has anything to do with Blackbox's most recent announcement that they will begin conducting sales and distribution of Insight, it has been confirmed that Blackbox will take over US sales and distribution of Insight, an Australian-based skate and surf fashion clothing line. The changes are a surprise to many, but seem to be a beneficial move for Blackbox in these rigorous economic times. Meanwhile, they continue to release great content, with a recent vid of Scottish friend of Blackbox (and John Rattray), Div (that gap to noseblunt is one of the gnarliest things I've ever seen at that park), a commercial for Slave's up-coming video Radio-Television and Fallen's Tom Asta shredding.
