SKATE NEWS

Five days ago, Familia Skateshop in Minneapolis, held a little contest called, "The Red Wave Challenge." The dudes over at Familia constructed an exact replica of the famed Red Wave spot in Downtown Minneapolis that you've without a doubt seen Steve Nesser and Seth McCallum skate in mags and videos. From the looks of the video below, things went down hard, even after the rain clouds attempted to rub their giant asses all over the pavement. For photos of the event and updates on the Minneapolis/Familia skate scene, check out the shops blog.

Speaking of Mr. Iannucci, his skateshop, Poets, has a brand new site that's up and running right now. Also visit the official Poets Myspace Page for frequent updates and store happenings.

Eric Pupecki Talks About The Menace Days At Bobshirt
My friends over at Bobshirt have come correct with another "throwback" interview. This time, they managed to track done and verbally probe the one only, Eric Pupecki. Eric chats about moving to SF, skating EMB, getting the boot from Element, Keenan Milton, Gino Iannucci, Lockwood and his days riding for Menace. Good stuff. Peep this old 411 section called "Roomies," featuring Pupecki, Gino and the late Keenan Milton. Those were the days...

Habitat Skateboards will be embarking on the Territory Trail Canadian Tour 2008, hitting up different spots in Canada for signings and skating along the way, beginning this September 20th. Along for the ride is Stefan Janoski, Tim O' Connor, Fred Gall, Mike McDermott, Guru Khalsa, Austyn Gillette and Marius Syvanen. Wait, what? Is Marius on Habitat? No official announcement has been made but if his name's on a tour flyer like this, he's at the very least on flow. Marius is one of my favorite skaters ever. Super smooth and casual style for that guy. After leaving Santa Cruz a short while back I was wondering what the hell happened to the kid. Habitat seems like a nice fit, if he is in fact on. Check the kids part from Osiris' Feed The Need.

The riders over at eS'are not f*&%k'in around. These dudes have been traveling, handling their business and racking up footage for the much anticipated eS' full-lengthy video. If you don't beleive me, refer to the footage below of Javier Sarmiento, Bobby Worrest, Rodrigo TX and Cale Nuske from a recent eS' tour of the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates). Look how insane those ledge spots are.

Pictured above is the new red/white/black colorway of Tom Penny’s pro model shoe, the Sport, which is featured in Furby’s first ad. Expect this fireball to be hitting Supra retailers soon.

Artist Amber B. got together with Element Skateboards to present her upcoming exhibition at Parisian concept store Colette.

"The window display will be erected over the Halloween holiday from the 27th of October with the creative inspiration being centered around the Pagan Halloween game called "Puicini Saucers." The game originated in Ireland, where a person could foresee his future by choosing one of the ingredients found on the Puicini Saucers while blindfolded. A Coin denotes wealth, Water foresees travel, Rosary Beads mean marriage or holy orders, and Earth predicts death... Spooky! The theme of Halloween is carried through the entire display with plenty of ghouls and teeth to be seen, while the entire room will be sewn felt, with the main feature being a huge sewn creature by the name of Mr. Autumn." Via Sneaker Freaker.

Colette will be offering a limited edition Mr. Autumn skateboard deck, that was produced in collaboration with Element Skateboards and a fan zine by Amber B

As the hype of Supra continues to grow, and the more celebrity endorsement they get, they have successfully locked down the street/skate world. Now, we have a new color of their popular Vaider model. This color way of the Supra Vaider incorporates a nice aqua color way with a gray/black snake skin on the front and upper-backs of the sneaker.

The much anticipated Vans x Taka Hayashi Pack 2, the second collaboration with artist and skater Taka Hayashi, has finally been released.

Consisting of a Vans No Skool Mid Vulc, Vans Ownes Hi Vulc and Vans Rowley Shambles Hi, the pack presents a very special line-up. The amount of details on each sneaker is mind-blowing. Premium materials, including leathers, pony hair and more have been used. Furthermore there is a lot of embroidery, printed graphics and tags to be found. The good thing is, even though the sneakers are loaded with details, the choice of color was kept simple, giving the pack an overall round look.

We gave you the complete lowdown on the Lil Wayne’s VMA get-up, now we have a more detailed picture of the Supra Vaiders–Pete Wentz 29th Birthday edition–he received for the Best Hip-Hop Video award. Only 29 pairs exist, so hit up your most exclusive industry homeboy and hope for the best.

The Aloha Army is in full effect, and they hold it down for the skate side with this Aloha Army Cruiser skateboard deck. What better way to spend your weekend than cruising around on this Aloha Army skate deck. Stay tuned for more information on Aloha Army products.

Recently hooking up with Brooklyn based Dalek, Carrot Clothing produce a skate deck featuring the celebrated graffiti artist’s well known work.
