All you hardcore traveling skaters will be amped to roll in style with this special Incase x Paul Rodriguez Luggage Collection. Incase is proud to announce that the Paul Rodriguez Signature Collection is now available for purchase. The highly anticipated three-piece line of skate travel bags debuts with the Skate Bag, Skate Pack and Overnite Bag.
Created with professional skateboarder and four-time X Games medalist Paul Rodriguez, each bag in the collection features a vast array of skateboard-specific storage options and unique functionalities designed to meet the high-performance needs of skateboarders. By merging skateboard-specific design with sophisticated, non-traditional materials and construction, the Paul Rodriguez Signature Collection brings together refinement and functionality, delivering the optimum in durability, ease-of-use and good design.
Each piece arrives in custom Paul Rodriguez packaging that also serves as bag storage when not in use.
The Paul Rodriguez Signature Collection is available through Incase’s webstore, Active and better boutiques worldwide. The Skate Pack will also be available at select Apple retail locations in California.

Gravis recently teamed up with top-tier brands Diamond Supply Co. x In4mation and The Hundreds on sick luggage, but they also launched their skateboarding sector IVSK8 and successfully designed a few new skate shoes. As of now, Arto Saari is pretty much their one-man team with his high-tech, high-style Viking Hi (pictured above) being the standout model. Check out the other Viking Hi and two Viking Low color-ups after the jump. Lay off the Nike SBs this time and kick around in a fresh pair of Gravis’.

We have seen the collaboration before and now the new small size Supreme x Maglite has been released. In case you have been looking for one and want a sleeker outfit than the classic black, take a look at these. They come in black, blue and of course red.

This Nike SB Ostrich Belt went unnoticed in the blogosphere, so we just wanted to give you the heads up. It’s all black embossed “ostrich” leather with a removable buckle. We did a bit of research on this piece and it’s sold out in most online accounts, but Active still has some…not for long.

For the past few years Brixton Ltd. has been designing some of the most buttery collection of vintage-style hats around, catering to fashion-conscious needs of skaters who give a sh*t about looking good. It wasn't long before a long list of your favorite skaters took notice to what these guys were doign and soon were rocking Brixton hats on the regs. Dudes like Jamie Thomas, Chet Childress, Jason Adams, Figgy, Steve Cabellero, Salman Agah, John Lucero, Matt Hensley, Chris Haslam, Patrick Melcher, Chris Troy and more have all been caught wearing Brixton caps at one time or another. Now for Brixton's Fall '09 line, the brand that's mastered the hat game, has expanded into jacket and flannel territory.

Since the New York temperatures are dropping like a motherf&*k as of late, my friends over at Brixton were sweet enough to send me some goods to keep my chilly-ass nice and cozy as the wind chill picks up. For the past week I've been wearing one of Brixton's newest jackets called The Clampdown. Courtesy Brixton Ltd

Brixton Cedar Flannel
Available in Black and Grey (mine's in black), this classic workers jacket is designed for a slimmer fit than most jackets, eliminating the gross, saggy feeling you get when your coat is too big around the arms and waist. It features a fully insulated liner and side pockets that can be used with a zipper, or a more classic looking button. I wear a medium normally, but the large in the Clampdown fits flawlessly. Keep that sh*t in mind when you're ordering this piece. Super warm, fits perfectly and looks hella-tight. Go on it.

When the temperature drops and skating still calls, it's layering and hot cocoa that's gonna save your scrawny ass. However, it's the bulk that comes along with layering that often sucks nuts. The Brixton Cedar Flannel is a super heavy duty 100% cotton button down that's dense and warm as f*&k. Most of my flannels are far too thin and as a result let the Fall winds seep through without an ounce of cold protection. This thing is thick and has almost the same strength and durability as a Pendleton, but manages to remain soft. Wear this thing out skating as is or throw a hoodie under it for when the snow begins to fall. Either way, you're keeping it cozy.

Brixton Ltd

Brixton Heist Beanie In Black
Known well for their fedoras and other classic-style hats, Brixton also makes beanies. If you're out in the cold, a beanie is essential for survival. But most snow caps get too warm and if you're going the distance, it won't be long before you're battling a headful of sweat and hair that's dripping wet...a no, no in sub-zero temperatures. The best part about Brixton's Heist Beanie is that it's not heavy at all. It's light and contains just the right amount of material to do the job right. In fact, the Brixton beanie's are light enough to wear all summer long.

Brixton Ltd

Brixton Tyrant Olive/Black Scarf
Another item fresh to the Brixton line is their Scarves. If you find yourself in the dead of winter during a windy day, the deciding factor between comfort and wanting to die is all dependent on a good scarf. Having a 15 degree blast of wind hit your neck and travel down your chest can feel like being skinned alive. Brixton's scarf is called The Tyrant, and is extra long and thick and available in a solid Heather Grey, a Red and Black Stripe, and the one I've got, Olive with a Black Stripe.
If you're looking to suit up for freezing temperatures or just somewhat chilly nights ahead, Brixton's got the upper portion of your body covered. -J.R.

SKATE NEWS

There's no doubt at all that Paul Rodriguez came up big this summer. He not only snatched first place at the AST Dew Tour, he won 100 G's at the first ever Maloof Money Cup. With more money to spare than Lil' Wayne, P-Rod put the $10,000 bottles of champagne on hold and went the route of the Pro-skater owned skateshop. P-Rod went ahead and opened Primitive, a skateshop/boutique that's in Encino, California. Stop by, pick up some limited edition Nike's and possibly even catch a glimpse of Paul and his sexually attractive girlfriend, Rainbow.

While Paul adds business owner to his pro skater title, his teammate and homeboy, Jereme Rogers, has now added "rapper," to his list of endeavors. It appears as if Jereme, who is going by the rap name, "JR," has already unleashed a bunch of tracks available for listen over at his MySpace page. Jeez...things are getting weird. Don't you think? Jereme, for the love of all things holy, let's put that shotgun on safety, shall we?

While "the collaboration" or "collabo," has been an ongoing instrument of sales, as well as original designs for a long-ass time now, to my knowledge there has yet to be such a thing such as, "the triple collabo." That is, until now. The Hawaiian skate, apparrel and retail name, In4mation has teamed up with both Diamond Supply and Gravis to create this buttery as f*&K travel bag. Big enough for three brands logos, and big enough for extended visits. Get one before they're all out.

2008 Goofy Vs. Regular

The skating at this year’s Goofy Vs. Regular was so good, nobody won. Sound weird? Well, at the end of the finals, the judge’s scores for both teams were so close they couldn’t pick an official winner. And just any other predicament in life, there’s only one way to settle such a difference: with a game of SKATE.

The Goofies, with Justin Figueroa and Tyler Hendley representing the two-man team in the final game, picked the double set for the battle ground of choice, but ended up losing to the inhumanly talented Andrew Langi and Chris Cole putting the Regulars on top once again. SKATE NEWS

Every now and then we come across a skateboarding photo that is so mind-blowing that it needs to be posted. This time around we take our hats off to Lizard King, who got crazy on this super long and tall and steep ledge. According to KR3W, Lizard already scored three covers while in Paris–we believe it. Read the excerpt below to catch up on the other KR3W crazies,
Jim [Greco] hasn’t slept in 35 hours and already got an in wrestling match with a Taxi driver. Furby missed his first flight but when he showed up the next day he took off his pajamas, put on his skate pants, then got a gnarly double-set hammer in seconds. Lizard has shot three covers with our homie Seu Trinh so far, so expect an article for TransWorld…”

Zero's scribbled claim, "New Video 'Strange World' In Progress" is not an outright fabrication. In fact, it will be out this fall. Deadline: deux fortnights. Look it up imaginary reader.Zero

Flo Marfaing & Alex Carolino Boards From The Santa Cruz "Save Us" Series
A little while back, Santa Cruz Skateboards released a series of boards entitled, "The Save Us" series, created by NHS resident artist, Lucas Musgrave. The series features different species that are on the verge of extinction and when all 6 pro boards are stacked atop each other, they form a giant mural depicting an ill-ass jungle scene of epic proportions. This mural comes entirely layed out on the large poster that's shrink-wrapped with each deck. The best part of this entire thing is, for every "Save Us" series deck sold, Santa Cruz Skateboards donates $1 to various Wildlife Conservation groups actively involved in efforts to save the animals featured on each deck from becoming extinct. A noble cause indeed. This past summer, NHS main man, Jeff Kendall was kind enough to send me a couple boards from the series to ride. I received boards from two ex-Seek riders, Alex Carolino and Flo Marfaing. The Carolino features a nice rounded shape and the Marfaing a more tapered, pin-like shape. Both decks come with Santa Cruz' signature PowerPly deck construction, aiding in strength and pop without excessive weight. Each PowerPly deck comes equipped with a "PowerWarranty," insuring your purchase against delamination due to workmanship for up to 120 days of its purchase. Not bad. The Carolino measured in at 7.75 X 31.4 and the Marfaing at a bit thinner at, 7.7 X 31.25. I took a break from my usual 8 inch or wider tank and skated both decks back to back. Both boards have medium kicks and a middle-of-the road concave that was noticeable under my feet without feeling overbearing. Each board was light and crammed with a sh*tload of pop that took a long-ass time to diminish. To be honest, I had a tough time determining when I needed to set up a new board. Despite excessive wear to these bitches, they still skated well, seemingly breaking in over time. These boards are stiff and give off minimal flex without flattening out completely over time. I've always backed Santa Cruz. But after riding some PowerPly's, I'm backing Santa Cruz even harder.

Tony Hawk Foundation Celebrates 5th Annual Benefit

Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks to support youth in low-income communities.

The Tony Hawk Foundation will host its fifth-annual benefit event, Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks, in Beverly Hills on Sunday, November 9, 2008. This family-centric action-sports carnival will feature a vert demo on Tony Hawk’s personal ramp with an all-star cast of BMX and skate pros, including Hawk, Shaun White, Bucky Lasek, and Andy Macdonald, plus BMX icons Mat Hoffman and Kevin Robinson. As many of them are veterans of Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom HuckJam tour, the riders are excited to be re-united to perform for the exclusive event’s 900 attendees.

Co-chaired by Tony Hawk, Lance Armstrong, Rob Dyrdek, Christopher “Big Black” Boykin, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mia Hamm, Dana White, Jr., Jon Favreau, Mat Hoffman, Shaun White, Robert Kotick, Bob McKnight, Scott Greenstein, and Ron Burkle, the Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks benefit will take place at Burkle’s expansive Green Acres estate. In addition to the vert demo, the event will include interactive activities, crafts, food, live and silent auctions, giveaways, plus a skate clinic and a special musical performance by Social Distortion.

Proceeds from Activision Presents Stand Up For Skateparks will help the Tony Hawk Foundation fulfill its mission of assisting low-income communities in the development of free, quality public skateparks. A focal point of the day’s fundraising will be the special Pledge Drive for a skatepark in the military community of Tierrasanta in San Diego, California. Many Tierrasanta youth have parents deployed overseas, and the skatepark will be a tremendous recreational opportunity and meeting place where over 2,300 military families and local civilians will come together to enjoy the benefits that a free, public skatepark offers. The son of a Navy pilot, Tony Hawk grew up in Tierrasanta, and this special Pledge Drive at Stand Up For Skateparks will kickstart the fundraising campaign for his hometown skatepark.

For more information on Stand Up For Skateparks, including tickets and sponsorship opportunities, log on to standupforskateparks.org.

A charitable, non-profit organization, the Tony Hawk Foundation was established in 2002 by its namesake, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, to promote and provide funds for high-quality public skateparks throughout the United States—with an emphasis on the word “quality.” Since then, the Foundation has awarded $2,400,000 to 391 communities. The Foundation focuses on working with local officials and grassroots, community-based organizations that plan to hire designers and contractors with strong experience designing and building skateparks.

The Tony Hawk Foundation was established by a gift from Tony Hawk. Its directors raise additional funds through events, industry donations, and continuing contributions from Tony and other entities. In addition to skateparks, the Foundation also makes donations to other children-related charities, as chosen by its Board Of Directors. DVS Luxe x Ray-Ban collabortion a while back. It’s time for the release, so we give you a detailed look at the sneaker and the sunglasses that were made as part of the collaboration. DVS worked on the classic Wayfarer model and gave it a nice color lining. Matching the sunglasses, they made a low top sneaker in all black in a mix of black leather and perforated leather.

Although the semi-cool Gravis and The Hundreds Black Box Collection was plastered all over the net, the Sureshot backpack pictured above is really why Gravis is still on our legit list. Besides the all-American steez, this backpack is the perfect size, shape, and is functionable enough to be cool but not nerdy–no clumsy wires hanging out of every pocket. Check detailed photos after the jump and cop this Bag of the Year nominee directly from Karmaloop.

If you want to know what it's like to collect a paycheck in exchange for having the time of your life everyday of the week, watch Element's newest online offer, Bam's Or Bust! The short but sweet video chronicles the recent stay of Element riders Darrell Stanton, Collin Provost, Mike V., Brent Atchley and Chad Tim Tim at Bam Margera's Pennsylvania compound, otherwise known as "Bamland." As expected, Jackass-style chaos ensues. Naked slip 'n' sliding, consenual black eyes, 120 MPH Lamborghini speeding, fireworks and penis-dressed four-wheeler jumping, all go down between dead serious skating at Bam's private barnyard street park and outdoor mega-ramp. Try to watch this thing on your lunch break. It's the perfect mix of piss-your-pants absurdity and solid-as-f*&k skateboarding. Actually, don't watch this at work. It will undoubtedbly bum you out as you sit at your cubicle for a mediocre paycheck as Bam and his homies make 50 times what you do for laughing and skating all day long. Sorry for that little dribble of reality people. It's only the truth. And I'll be damned if the truth didn't hurt like a sonofabitch. -Jay Riggio

Skate Coach

Yeah, Woodward's cool and all, but when was the last time you looked into some legitimate camp competition? Ok, Visalia? Yeah, Visalia's pretty cool too. But, if you truly want to roll with the big dogs, you need to straighten out that back and quit pissing like a g'damned pup. Underground skate legend, Eric Nevada, has a brand new approach to the concept of Skate Camp, and from the looks at this nationally broadcast TV spot, his unique program is off the hook! I can't wait to take a go on that Tony Hawk simulator. Big ups, Mr. Nevada...big ups to you. -Jay Riggio

G v R 2008

Regular better get off its ass and do something about this crisis. This guy's freaking out about how Melissa is eating her babies! There are particle accelerators creating massive black holes in Switzerland. There's a whole lot of horrible stuff that's been happening in Africa for years and years that few people have noticed. Oh, and Americans are going to have to pay the stock market our money. We're gonna have to get second jobs. I mean, what is this world coming to?

Meanwhile, Goofy isn't helping either. They keep whining about how David Lee Roth hasn't returned to stardom, despite some of the best quotes in history. All they do is talk in circles about how Goofy is better than Regular. We need some change, like seven billion dollars worth of it, or we're gonna be in big trouble. The system is broken.

Lucky for us, the Etnies Goofy vs. Regular competition is taking place October 2nd thru 5th. Hopefully it will shine some light on the most pressing issues of our century. Then, when it's all over, we can go back to normal and not care about anything for the rest of the year. That's what we're supposed to do, right, not care about anything?—Josh Brooks

Beautiful Antihero

"Let's let bygones be bygones and play some Scrabble."

It was a chance meeting with those strays of the Antihero teaM.Friends of friends traveling with them set up the unlikely situation where our crew from Colorado, the Boulderd**ks, shared the single fire pit between neighboring campsites.

Looking back, it was one decisive move, the opening of the Scrabble boardgame that must have made us such p*ssies. Perhaps it was the confusing grid of stratified squares, the seemingly unfair point system or, more likely, the general nerdiness of the game that made Shorty hate us so badly. I think we geeked his scene; that's the only explanation I can think of.

But, with the release of the unlikely Antihero and Girl tour video, Beauty and the Beast, I don't have to dwell anymore. I can live vicariously through the Girl and Antihero team on their trip through the Northwest.

It's cathartic to see two different groups of skaters get along so well. It helps me look back on that roadtrip from a different perspective. I imagine Shorty sitting down to play a game of Scrabble with us, only to realize the joy of incorporating a 10 point J into a double word score. "Boo yah!" Shorty yells as we highfive and everyone takes a swig off of a handle of whiskey.
